"This course came at the right time for me, I was feeling very stressed, shouting at my toddler and feeling disappointed in myself as a crap parent. I have realised that situations are states and do end and are not traits - permanent. I am doing my best and he knows that he is loved. Thank you. Nicky Robinson Dalton
Run over a 4-week period, the Mindfully Happy Parenting Programme, has been designed to help promote good mental health, facilitating deeper connections for the entire family and overall well-being for children. The sessions aim to provide parents with tools and strategies to immediately support healthy family development and help prepare their children to face life’s challenges with a more informed, confident approach.
mindfully happy parent & child workshop
In this introductory workshop you will learn a specific way of paying attention to your breath, your body, your thoughts, your feelings, and the world around you. Using fun and interactive exercises, parents and children together will be introduced to the foundations of mindfulness and experience the effect of mindfulness practises on emotional regulation and stress reduction. Creating new ways of interacting, which, in turn, will teach children to manage their own stressors and live their own lives with greater skill and enjoyment.
Mindfulness can be supportive to all families, helping parents to be more in touch with their children and less distracted and worried by past regrets and future anxieties. Children who practise mindfulness have found it has helped them with their friends, parents, brothers, sisters, schoolwork, sports, and other activities. This way of paying attention is very powerful because when you can observe your thoughts and feelings, then you can choose what you say and how you act. And choosing your words and actions can improve your life!
"My 7 year old son and I have greatly benefited from our sessions with Aideen. She created a space that welcomed both of us into a journey of emotion exploration. What a wonderful experience to share with my child! I feel we were able to engage on a level that was not previously included in our daily lives. Aideen thoughtfully facilitated sessions that allowed Alex to relax and participate in fun activities, while simultaneously engaging me in the benefits of mindfulness."

What is Mindful Parenting?
The task of parenting is one of the most challenging, stressful, demanding, and rewarding jobs on the planet The reality of being a parent is that there will be many things you won’t be able to control, no matter how hard you try, plates will break, tears will be shed, and difficulties will inevitably occur life is not always predictable.
Mindful parenting does not mean being a “perfect parent” but it helps us to be more aware of our own emotions without letting them trigger us into knee-jerk reactions, enabling us to respond more calmly when our children press our buttons throughout the day
Why might I need to do this?
Day after day our relationship with our children can become an “auto-pilot relationship", it can be very hard to think of what to do for yourself when things get tough. It is best to have a plan ready for when you need it. Think of Mindful Parenting as your toolkit for daily living as opposed to a break glass in case of emergency.n
